Who is eligible?
Individuals 55 years of age and older are eligible.
Participant's spouses of any age are welcome. Companions of age-eligible
participants must be at least 50. Elderhostel welcomes people of
all races, colors and religions.
During your Elderhostel program, you'll study diverse
courses designed especially for Elderhostel. They are challenging
and thought provoking, but don't require any prior knowledge or
formal training, and you won't have to worry about homework, exams
or grades. Besides daily classes, programs often include course-related
field trips and evening activities.
Most Elderhostels at Berkshire Community College last
5 days and start either on Sunday or Monday evening. You'll stay
at the Crowne Plaza Pittsfield. You'll share your experiences with
classmates from a variety of backgrounds. Like you, they are not
only interesting, but also interested in learning new things and
sharing ideas.
While each of BCC's programs is unique, each week
typically includes at least 20 hours of academic coursework.
At our off-campus accommodations rooms are usually
double occupancy. However, there is an additional charge for a single
room.
