Women on Tech Path

Berkshire Applied Technology Council, Inc. (BATC) and Tech Prep, in collaboration with BCC, were awarded a Non-Traditional Training Support Grant from the Massachusetts Department of Education.

The "Women on Tech Path" Project brought together 22 young women (from each of the 11 public schools) for after-school training in the areas of engineering, graphics/animation, and information technology.

National Science Foundation (NSF) curriculum modules were selected for a series of after school workshops and tours and the girls participated in a Summer Internet Academy to create web pages(s) highlighting what they learned during this school year. The project also included job shadow and electronic networking components.
