The cost of attending a community college is approximately half the cost of attending a residential Massachusetts public institution.

So, if you transfer into one of Massachusetts public colleges or universities through the Joint Admissions Program, you could save as much as 33% on your tuition at the four-year public school through the Tuition Advantage Program. If you graduate from BCC in an approved program with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better, your tuition at the receiving institution will be reduced by 33% for two years.

Transfer as a junior with the Massachusetts Transfer Compact

Your path to a bachelor's degree in Massachusetts offers many options. The Massachusetts Transfer Compact is another long-standing agreement between the Massachusetts community colleges and the four-year public institutions in the state. The agreement states that if you graduate from BCC having completed a particular group of courses, after admission to the four-year institution, all of your credits will transfer and you will be given junior status.

BCC has articulation/transfer agreements with many four-year institutions from all over the country which guarantee that if you graduate in a specific program with a predetermined Grade Point Average (GPA) and have followed a suggested course of study, you will be guaranteed junior status and be treated with the same rights as those students who originally started at the four-year school.
